The best part of traveling, whether it’s a big trip or just a small micro adventure to the local lake, are the spontaneous moments–those fleeting, unexpected moments of beauty that make you smile or take your breath away.
…And of course these moments always happen when you don’t have your camera because, unexpected, duh.
Luckily, thanks to our modern obsession with smart phones (guilty), we are never truly without a camera of any sort. Below are some of my favorite cell phone snaps, no editing, no filter, just awesome moments and great lighting.

Location : White Rock Lake
This is one of my favorite places to go in Dallas. I’m not even sure the exact date when I took this photo;I just remember it was a random 70 degree day in the middle of winter and I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a bike ride.
When I was riding back to my car, the sun was setting and the way it was hitting the water was just perfect so I had to snap a photo.
Then, because I’m me, I had to artistically incorporate my bike into the photo as well.
Imagine deciding to skate almost 10 miles around a lake. Then imagine realizing about 5 miles in that only half the lake had the smooth trails made for skating and that the rest were broken gravel pits of struggle. Now, you’re almost 2 miles from your car, you’re wondering how you got into this..and then you round the corner and see this:
No filer. Simply nature at it’s finest.
I stood there soaking in the moment for almost ten minutes…and then it began to ran on me as I completed my final miles.
I take pictures of my beer. I do this a lot.
